The Alborzi Smiles Team!
We are proud of the experienced and highly trained team we've built here at Alborzi Orthodontics. Each of our staff members are experts in their positions and are committed to giving you world-class care. We have regular staff meetings to keep our office running like clockwork and our staff participate in continuing education courses to keep on top of the latest technology.
Administrative Team
Diane Dugoni Descalso — Executive Assistant to Dr. Alborzi
Diane wears many hats in our practice and her vast knowledge and experience in orthodontics make her perfect as Dr. Alborzi's Executive Assistant. She performs a multitude of tasks ranging from patient satisfaction and quality control to accounts payable, office policy and all tasks related to staff management and training.
Diane has been with our team since 1989. She grew up in the Bay Area and has worked in orthodontics for over 30 years, first as a registered dental assistant and then as a registered dental hygienist.
Diane has 2 amazing children, one in college and one in high school that keep her extremely busy outside the office. She is an avid fan of road biking and traveling and, not to mention, time with her large family and her friends!
Gloria Navarro – Treatment Coordinator
Gloria, our Treatment Coordinator, is the liaison between our patients and our practice. You will meet Gloria at your first appointment and she will help answer the many questions you may have about our practice and our procedures. She will also answer any questions you have about orthodontics and how we create amazing smiles everyday, utilizing the best technology that research has to offer for the benefit of our patients. Gloria’s bright and sunny personality and 26-year experience in the dental field makes her the perfect person for this position.
When she is not meeting our wonderful new patients, Gloria enjoys spending time with her family: 1 daughter, 1 son and 1 stepson in Redwood Shores. She’s a “foodie” that loves trying new recipes! Her favorite movie is “The Sound of Music” and she plays Scrabble 4 times per week!
Andrea Yglesias-Mingao —Financial & Marketing Coordinator
Andrea has been with our team since 2005. She handles all your financial and insurance needs. She is always happy to assist you in finding out about your orthodontic insurance benefits as well as helping you to receive all that you are entitled to under your plan provisions. Andrea also assists Dr. Alborzi with marketing and public relations efforts, as Dr. Alborzi offers support to local schools and community organizations.
Andrea received her BA from San Francisco State University in 2005. She enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, son, stepson and family and taking her dog to the park.
Jeanette Tachis
Jeanette was born in San Mateo and grew up in Belmont. She owned a retail business in San Francisco for 11 years with her husband and two sons before joining our team in 2005.
She enjoys her home on Kings Mountain, water aerobics, traveling, and going to the movies with her husband.
Heather Jünkerman
Heather has been with our practice since August 2011. She always has a smile on her face and is happy to schedule your appointments and ensure that your visits to our office are pleasant! Heather was born and raised in San Mateo and has a very active life with her son, Kyle. She enjoys spending time with friends, shopping and trying new restaurants. .
Clinical Team
Hellene Barillas
Hellene started her dental assisting career in 1999 and obtained her RDA in 2006. Hellene is passionate about the dental field and enjoys challenges within the field of dentistry. She is bilingual and is very helpful in guiding our Spanish-speaking patients through their dental treatment needs. Hellene is a mother of two daughters and owns a business with her husband, as well. She enjoys having fun with the family and always exploring new places.
Elizabeth Lopez
Elizabeth was born and raised in Half Moon Bay Coastside. She earned her Dental Assisting Certificate and X-ray License from Carrington College in San Jose. She has been practicing orthodontic dental assisting for 3 years with some general assisting background. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, watching movies and keeping up with her busy 4-year old, Sean.
Anna Capaccioli
Anna has worked in orthodontics for over 20 years. She graduated from the College of San Mateo Dental Assisting Program and works as one of our Registered Dental Assistants with extended duties in coronal polishing and x-rays. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her 2 boys.
